ServoPress Formability Systems

ServoPress Advantages

The ServoPress is a double acting servo-controlled hydraulic press designed for laboratory use. These systems control, monitor, and record forming process parameters such as the clamp force, clamp position, punch force, and punch position. The ServoPress 150 is capable of simulating mechanical press speeds and velocity profiles.

The versatility of the ServoPress makes it a great tool for enhancing your product development, production, and quality control processes by allowing you to:

  • Quickly evaluate forming properties of sheet and tube for more accurate design models.
  • Easily prototype parts without interrupting production presses.
  • Optimize forming process variables and rank lubricants to improve part quality and press productivity.
  • Check the quality of incoming materials to avoid production problems associated with variability in forming properties

Better Forming Properties

Most forming processes induce biaxial strains in the material being formed. Unlike simple tensile test data the ServoPress formability data provides a better representation of the biaxial stress strain behavior of a material. This data can be used to generate forming limit diagrams to more accurately predict the biaxial failure limits of the material.

UniTest Control System

The ServoPress is automated with Interlaken's UniTest Computer Control System. This controller uses a windows based graphical operator interface to set up, run, and monitor the tests. Process parameters can be saved to disk and recalled later for more repeatable test setups. The UniTest application incorporates automated routines for detecting load drops and uses a Wizard to guide the operator through standard test procedures. The optional UniTest TestBuilder provides an intuitive, easy to use graphical means for defining a customized sequence of press operations.
